CANFLEX (USA) Inc. designed and produced the first ever “Surface Response Bag," in 1986. The Canflex Surface Response Bags are “Balloon” shaped semi-towable bladders designed to be used at a shipping port or harbor for temporary storage of oil or light fuels that have been recovered by a skimmer.

The bladders then can be slowly towed to an area where the harbor crane or large dock crane is able to attach a hook to the bottom shackle and hoist it from the water.

The recovered product can then be drained through the bottom fitting into a tank truck for removal from the site.

Each Surface Response Bag has two closed cell foam floatation panels for auxiliary buoyancy and stability. They also come with high strength polyester webbing lifting straps treated with special coating to prevent against UV degradation. These straps are enclosed in protective sleeves attached to the body of bag. All Surface Response Bags come with appropriate screw pin shackles attached to the top of the lift harness, for single lifting point.

All products are Manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Standard. Canflex (USA) Inc holds certificate No FM 517957

Capacities range from 1 to 10 (246 to 2,460 gallons).
